Re-format of scripts and extra functions need documenting

Same case as the cdm mapper, I have re-formatted the mdf_reader code (so all lines in the scripts are inline with the correct space and Python syntax) but that sits in a separate branch call mdf_reader. I will merge this branch to the main one to avoid confusion.
Current docs are hosted in GitHub pages under: https://glamod.github.io/mdf_reader_documentation/index.html
And I will be pushing an updated documentation at the end of the week.
